Tools

Small tools we built for ourselves. Free to use.

Engineering is what we do every day, and some of the tools we made along the way are useful outside our own workshop. They run in your browser and need no account.

STEP viewer

Open a STEP file in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

Drop a .step or .stp file and look at the part in 3D: rotate it, measure it and check the main dimensions. The file is read by your own browser and never leaves your computer, so it is safe to use for drawings you may not share.

STL viewer

Open an STL file in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

The same viewer for mesh files. Drop an .stl file to check a print or a scan in 3D: rotate it, measure distances and angles and read the overall dimensions. The file stays on your own computer.

STEP-FEMBeta

Will your 3D-printed part hold? A quick strength check in the browser.

Open a STEP or STL file, mark the face that is held and the face that carries the load, and STEP-FEM shows how the part deforms and where it is likely to fail. It takes the print direction into account, so you can compare orientations before you print. Everything is calculated on your own computer; the file is not uploaded.

PDF measure

Measure lengths, areas, angles and radii on a PDF drawing.

Open a PDF, JPG or PNG drawing, set the scale from one known dimension and measure directly on the sheet: lines and polylines, spline lengths, areas, circles with radius, diameter and circumference, a radius through three points and angles. Totals appear in a legend and export to CSV, PNG or an annotated PDF. The drawing stays on your own computer, and you can save your work as a project file or install the tool as an app to use it offline.

Plate inspectorBeta

Look closer at X-ray images of ballistic plates.

A viewer for X-ray images of ceramic plates. Open a TIFF, PNG or JPEG, set brightness, contrast and gamma or let the tool calibrate them, and switch on edge detection to make cracks and fractures stand out. A magnifier, measurements and annotations help you document what you see. The image stays on your own computer.

Serial monitor

Talk to an ESP32, Arduino or any serial device from the browser.

A serial terminal that needs no installation. Connect a board over USB, pick the port and baud rate, and read the output live. Send commands, pause the display, add timestamps and save the log as a text file. It uses the Web Serial API, so it runs in Chrome, Edge and other Chromium browsers on a desktop computer.

Open Serial monitor

Camo designer

Turn photos of the terrain into a tileable camouflage pattern.

A fractal pattern generator for camouflage. Load photos of the terrain or environment, let the tool extract the colour palette, set the shape and size of the blobs and generate a pattern. The result is a tile that repeats without a seam and downloads as SVG, ready for a print test or a concept.
